A wine with a deep ruby color, intense aromas of black fruits, white pepper, spices and a hint of clove. The blend of four varieties gives a complex, deep wine with juicy tannins, good volume and very balanced.
Paella, Confit de Canard (duck confit) and pastas.
"This savory red boasts a bacon fat layer that presides over the nose and the palate, with clove and cherry wood notes joining in. Offers baked plum and cherry fruit flavors that play a secondary role but help balance out the heavy flavors. Distinctive, but will have fans. Syrah, Carménère, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc."

"Dark ruby black color. Fruity, floral aromas and flavors of pressed flowers and cedar bark, grilled peppers and beets, spiced berries, and chocolate with a satiny, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a silky, breezy cherry pit, honey roasted carrot, nuts, and cedar mulch finish with crunchy tannins and light oak. "An intriguing wine is the 2013 Proprietary Red Reserve 1234, which is an assemblage of 50% Syrah, 30% Carmenère and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This wine offers up loads of loamy soil nuances intermixed with blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, new saddle leather and floral notes, with baking spices also making an appearance. This opaque ruby/purple wine is another terrific value and, moreover, should drink well for another 3-4 years."

"Saturated ruby. Smoky aromas of dried cherry, cassis and game, with a peppery note adding lift. On the palate, bitter cherry and dark berry flavors are underscored by tangy acidity and complicated by smoked meat and succulent herb qualities. Gentle tannins shape the persistent, smoky finish. - Josh Raynolds"

"This was my favorite of the group of wines I tasted from this producer in Chile. The 2012 Reserve Proprietary Red is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Carmenère and the rest equal parts Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It boasts a dark ruby/plum/purple color as well as notes of raspberries, blackcurrants, baking spices, and a touch of background oak in a medium to full-bodied, beautifully complex, pure style. Savory and round with surprising density, this is a fabulous value to enjoy over the next 2-3 years. - Robert Parker"
