Purple-tinged garnet color. Aromas of fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) and spices. The palate is full-flavored, with silky-smooth tannins. The finish offers notes of licorice and pepper. A classic Rhône to drink between 1 and 4 years.
"A solid Côtes-du-Rhône, fruit-driven yet well-structured and serious. It has notes of red berries, wild herbs, wafers and some baking spices. Medium- to full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. A silky core of berries blends with a solid frame of tannins on the palate. Creamy, chocolatey finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold."

"A juicy red-fruited wine, this has interesting edges of green olive and clove. The silky texture and crisp acidity help the palate glide between ripe fruits, savory and mineral elements. Delicious. - Anna-Christina Cabrales"

"The bright blackberry fruit makes quite a bold statement, but the tannins behind it are a bit sappy and the generous body doesn’t quite balance them. Slightly tart acidity at the finish. Drink now."

"The medium to full-bodied 2019 Cotes du Rhone Grand Veneur seems to favor Syrah in its notes of black olives and licorice, but also shows plenty of fleshy black cherry fruit. It's actually a tank-matured blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. Concentrated but supple, it's round and expansive in the mouth, finishing with a subtle dusting of ripe tannins and hints of mocha.- Joe Czerwinski"

"Luscious red-cherry and dried-strawberry flavors are nuanced by a hint of leather and garrigue in this fruity, Grenache-dominant blend. It's full bodied and approachably plump, anchored by crisp acidity and a fresh, moderately long finish."

"The 2016 Cotes du Rhone Reserve Grand Veneur looks to be very good. Tasted as a tank sample, it seems tight and constrained, corseted by acidity into tight-fitting bright cherry flavors. It should relax somewhat over the next few months, allowing the fruit and garrigue notes to properly blossom on the palate. - Joe Czerwinski"

"The 2014 Côtes du Rhône Reserve (60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Cinsault) doesn't see a hint of oak and is all the better for it. Loads of licorice, back olive tapenade, pepper, grilled herbs, kirsch liqueur and black raspberry notes are all present in this expressive, medium-bodied, elegant, slightly lighter than usual, but still flavorful, tasty Côtes du Rhône. Drink it over the next 1-2 years."
