The color is purple-tinged garnet. The aromatic range of the nose goes from fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) to spices. The palate is big and full-flavored, with silky-smooth tannins and aromas of the fruit already mentioned. The finish introduces touches of liquorice and pepper. A Cotes du Rhone with great complexity for an every day drinking.
Ideal throughout the meal, but particularly with poultry and other white meats, as well as mild cheeses.
"This Grenache led blend is almost opaque with a spicy and peppery nose of dark fruit. Silky mouth feel with floral notes, excellent depth, round tannins and a dry finish. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Cinsault. - Don WINKLER"

"Dusty ruby color. Aromas and flavors of cherry custard and meringue, delicate jerky, fig newton, and pipe tobacco with a satiny, bright, fruity medium-to-full body and a smooth, delightful, medium-long finish that exhibits touches of honey roasted cherries and root vegetables, roasted nuts, cedar, and cocoa nibs with chewy, firm tannins and moderate oak flavor. A chewy, toothsome, table friendly French red that is an easy choice for a meaty Mediterranean meal."

"Dusty shards of granite, lavender and sun-kissed mulberries perfume this wine from Alain Jaume. It's an approachable, fruity blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Cinsault (10%) cut by a revitalizing strike of acidity and a lingering stony finish. Best enjoyed now–2024. Anna LEE C. IIJIMA"

"Mostly Grenache blended with roughly 30% Syrah, brought up all in tank, the 2019 Côtes Du Rhône Haut De Brun is another terrific release from this estate that delivers loads of pleasure for not much buck. Impressive red and black fruits, notes of peppery garrigue, and earth, medium-bodied richness, and a juicy, gulpable style all make for a seriously good Côtes du Rhône to enjoy over the coming 3-5 years."

"The 2019 Cotes du Rhone Haut de Brun comes across as slightly darker and more concentrated than the 2018, showing hints of blueberries and black cherries mixing in with the raspberries and cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, shows some soft, velvety tannins, and displays admirable purity on the finish. - Joe Czerwinski"

"The 2018 Côtes Du Rhône Haut De Brun also showed nicely, with a more fruit-driven style in its wild strawberry, raspberry, pepper, and floral-laced aromas and flavors. With wonderful purity of fruit, medium-bodied richness, and sweet tannins, it’s a terrific, frontend loaded 2018 to enjoy over the coming 2-4 years."

"The 2017 Côtes du Rhône Haut de Brun is in the same ballpark as the 2016, with a similar level of concentration, yet it has more dark fruits as well as good minerality. This medium-bodied, concentrated, fresh 2017 will keep for 7-8 years.
There are few better run estates in the world than that of the Jaume Family’s Domaine Grand Veneur. Located in the northern part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and run today by brothers Christophe and Sebastien Jaume, the estate produces a quasi-modern style of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (their Les Origins and Vieilles Vignes) as well as a growing number of negociant based wines from throughout the Southern Rhône. The 2017s whites are terrific across the board, and this vintage has produced charming, pure wines that are already drinking beautifully. The 2016 reds are some of the finest I’ve tasted from this estate."- Jeb Dunnuck (August 2018, LE MILLÉSIME… The 2016s from the Southern Rhône - Part 1), 88-90 pts

"Ripe but restrained black-cherry and plum flavors extend from nose to finish in this full-bodied blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Cinsault (10%). Freshly concentrated and edged by hints of cut granite and salt, it's a softly tannic, easy-drinking red best enjoyed now to 2024. - ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA"

"Moving to the reds under the Alain Jaume label, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône Haut de Brun is a 70/30 split of Grenache and Syrah brought up in stainless steel and concrete. Black cherries, blackberries, peppery herbs, and ample spice notes give way to a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, lengthy beauty that shows the quality of this great vintage.

"This blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Cinsault would be a crowd favorite if more than 700 cases were available in the U.S. The black cherry fruit is punched up by hints of herbs and cracked pepper, there's ample weight but great freshness and zest, and the finish is long and complex, showing off hints of licorice, pepper and dusty earth. Drink now–2020."
