Pale yellow color with hints of green, aromas of white flowers (may blossom, honeysuckle).
The palate is pleasantly balanced between liveliness and roundness, which brings out characteristics of dried apricot, honey and elderberry. A Chateauneuf du Pape white displaying a great finesse.
"The 2023 Châteauneuf du Pape Le Miocene Blanc is mostly Clairette but includes 40% Roussanne. Its vivid gold hue is followed by a beautiful perfume of stone fruits, grilled peach, minty flowers, and some spicy nuances. It's balanced and medium to full-bodied, with a kiss of background oak and flawless balance. It's a brilliant white from this talented family that readers will love to drink over the coming 4-6 years, if not upwards of a decade."

"The classic white from this estate is the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Miocene Blanc, and it shines in the vintage. Based on 60% Clairette and 40% Roussanne, it has a lighter gold hue as well as textbook aromatics of citrus, pears, and minty herbs. I love its balance, it’s medium-bodied, has the vintage’s fresher style, and outstanding length. It should evolve gracefully, and while the safe bet is to enjoy bottles over the coming 2-4 years, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this evolve for well over a decade."

"The 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Le Miocene is a largely tank-matured blend of 60% Clairette and 40% Roussanne. It's on the broad, tropical side, with notes of guava, apricot and pineapple, a rich, full-bodied feel on the palate and a finish built on richness more than freshness. Tasted twice (once blind), with one of the samples showing more peppery spice and lime zest on the finish."

"Delicate notes of smoke and green apple introduce this fresh-fruited blend of 60% Clairette and 40% Roussanne. Full bodied but almost diaphanous on the palate, it offers crisp yellow-plum and gooseberry flavors edged by a revitalizing spray of crushed stone and walnut skins. The wine is ready now but should drink well through 2030 at least. - ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA"

"This full-bodied but fresh-fruited white owes its tart grapefruit and green apple flavors to a hefty dose (60%) of Clairette along with 40% Roussanne. Unoaked and briskly concentrated, it's a juicy, thirst quenching wine that finishes on a pert mineral tone. Best enjoyed young. - ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA"

"Pale brilliant straw. High-pitched aromas of lemon zest, Anjou pear, anise and white flowers, backed by a hint of smoky minerality. Densely packed but lithe in character, displaying very good clarity to the mineral-drenched orchard fruit, citrus zest and honeysuckle flavors. The floral note carries emphatically through the finish, which lingers with impressive, mineral-driven persistence. - Josh Raynolds"

"Limpid straw-yellow. Aromas of ripe orange, pear nectar and honey pick up a hint of fennel with air. Smooth and seamless on the palate, showing very good depth and heft to the pliant citrus and orchard fruit flavors. Rich and creamy yet vibrant as well, thanks to a spine of juicy acidity. Lingers impressively, leaving behind notes of tangerine and poached pear. - Josh Raynolds"

"While this estate's reds get most of the glory, they produce a number of high-quality whites. The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc, which is made from 60% Roussanne and 40% Clairette, is lively, fresh and focused, with firm apple blossom, citrus, lime and hints of minerality. It shows the freshness of the vintage, yet still has solid depth and richness to its fruit. It will be better in another six months or so and have 3-4 years of prime drinking. I've no doubt it will evolve for much longer as well if you're so inclined. - Jeb Dunnuck"
