Weinviertel is the largest wine-producing region in Austria with 13,000 hectares of vineyards. Hugl wines come from the town of Poysdorf, 50 km north of Vienna. Wine has been produced in this area since the 15th century. Deep-seated loess and loam soils, gently rolling vineyards, high sunshine hours as well as significant daytime temperature differences give ideal conditions every year for distinctive, fruity wines, in particular for Grüner Veltliner.
Hugl Rosselberg is a powerful and full-bodied Grüner Veltliner with intense ripe fruits, elegant spicy and white pepper aromas, a long finish.
A firm mineral backbone gives it the strength of character to work well with many cuisines. Game and beef dishes, as well as desserts, or simply on its own for an enjoyable evening.
"Notes of Pez candy and clementine give this an edge, while the mouthwatering acidity keeps the wine intact. It is vibrant and clean throughout and the herbal and mineral notes emerge towards the finish. - Aleks Zecevic"

"A lovely, spicy intensity of ripe Russet pear peel, iron oxide, citrus pith and dried citrus peel is immediately rich and fresh on the nose. The palate adds the juicy roundness of ripe Mirabelle plum but it remains streamlined, concentrated and smooth. - ANNE KREBIEHL MW"
