"The 2020 Malbec Monteagrelo was aged for 12 months in French oak. Purple in the glass. The intense aromas feature plum liqueur, cassis and hints of blackberry in an oaky, cigar box frame. The palate is broad and full-bodied with a channeled but voluminous, grippy flow. - Joaquín Hidalgo"

"A juicy and expressive malbec with some dark earth and black peppercorn spices on top of the blackberries and fresh herbs. Generous and velvety with some black tea and ripe black fruit to the mid-palate. Tannins are silky and melted. Drink now."

"The Bressias use a 50/50 blend of Luján de Cuyo and Uco Valley Malbecs to make this smooth, supple, perfumed red, ageing the result in French and American oak. Sweet blueberry and raspberry fruit flavours are embellished by a twist of vanilla spice. 2023-28"

"The 2019 Malbec Monteagrelo is a blend of grapes from the Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza and was aged for 10 months in French vats. Garnet red in the glass, the nose offers notes of ripe plum and oak with hints of biscuit and pepper. Slick and broad, the voluminous flow brings gentle tannins and freshness. It’s creamy at the back of the mouth with hints of fruit. - Joaquín Hidalgo"

"Although this wine was originally 100% from Agrelo, today it also includes grapes from cooler zones in the Uco Valley. This malbec has black fruits and floral touches in a red that’s medium bodied but that also has very potent tannins that prickle on the tongue. An ideal wine for lamb"

"Walter Bressia founded his family winery in 2003, having been working in the industry in Mendoza since the 1980s. His Monteagrelo is rich, Andean and rustic, like blackberry jam with all the pips; this wine has a direct, open sunniness that seems to convey the thin mountain atmosphere. Some lilac complexity and fresh fruit power it through the coffee-bean finish, which takes front-and-center stage a day after opening."

"Baked dark cherries and creme de cassis with a spicy undertone. The palate has lots of fruit sweetness, which is rich and flattering, but is not showing much class at this stage. The tannin quality, however, is good. Drinkable now."

"Wines from Vista Flores, in the Tunuyán area, tend to be riper, with less sharpness and minerality than other high elevation zones. We’re not really sure why, we only go by the wines we’ve tasted from there, like this Monteagrelo which, despite the name, comes from viñeyards in Vista Flores. This wine shows good ripeness, flavors of sweet red fruit, but is not as it was a decade ago in Vista Flores. Today, the new generation blends this sweetness with fresh tense acidity that changes the profile, without losing the essence."

"Combining fruit from Agrelo and the Uco Valley is something of a Walter Bressia speciality. This juicy, brambly, well-balanced Malbec blends the two regions to good effect framed by aromatic oak. 2019-24."

"Plum, tomato and spice aromas turn more floral with airing. This is a dry pinching tannic Malbec with herbal plum and cherry flavors that are also peculiarly salty. A tannic dry sturdy finish offers plenty to chew on. Drink through 2022."

"Bright ruby-red. Wild aromas of blackberry, licorice, black cherry, leather and peppery herbs, along with strong chocolaty oak tones. At once vinous and densely packed, offering good peppery lift but also a strong oakiness to the dark berry and saline flavors. Finishes with serious, oak-driven tannins and good length. - Stephen Tanzer"

"The 2012 Malbec Monteagrelo is mostly from Agrelo with around 20% grapes from Vista Flores in the Uco Valley, a ripe red that matured in French oak for 18 months. It revealed ripe aromas of juicy berries and moderate influence from the élevage with some spiciness. The very supple palate shows less influence from the wood and is more fruit-driven with nice fruit and good structure offered by sweet tannins and moderate acidity."

The outstanding 2011 Malbec Monteagrelo was aged in French oak and bottled without fining or filtration. Its dark purple color is followed by notes of chocolate, espresso, blackberries and black raspberries. Medium to full-bodied with excellent concentration, sweet tannin and an impressive finish, it should drink well for 5-7 years.

Saturated, bright ruby-red. Aromas of black raspberry, roast coffee, fig, licorice, mocha and musky oak. Plush, pliant and sweet, with seductive berry, coffee, spicecake and tobacco flavors complicated by smoke and game nuances. Finishes with sweet tannins, a whiff of herbs and sneaky persistence.
