Sylvestra wines show typicity, varietal power and careful elaboration from the Bressia family with the character, freshness and rebelliousness of the new generation. Fruity aromas, floral memories and authentic flavors - here is the expression of Sylvestra, with no oak, just fruit.
Sylvestra Malbec offers a very attractive ruby red color with dark tones. Aromas of black fruits, cherries and raspberries, spicy notes of red pepper. The palate is fresh, fruity and well-balanced, with sweet and ripe tannins.
"The 2021 Malbec Sylvestra from the Uco Valley is purple in color with a diaphanous but expressive fruity nose featuring fresh plum, hints of blackberry and violet over a bed of herbs. Intense in the mouth, the polished tannins are lifted up by the juicy freshness which also injects energy and tension before the fruity finish. - Joaquín Hidalgo"

"Walter Bressia established his family winery in 2003 after working in the trade for decades. He makes this malbec in stainless steel, and it’s an aromatic feast, some slight reduction giving the wine smoky cedar and black tea scents alongside dark cherry fruit. Its flavors are lean until the scents balloon the palate with a day of air, holding a vibrant edge in the violet-perfumed blackberry finish. Some cellar time would improve it, but its detail shows at the edges of the black-fruit flavors, popped up with a basil scent. Andean wine with verve.”

"Aromas of blackcurrant, sweet tobacco, mocha and burnt orange. It’s medium-bodied with velvety tannins. Juicy finish. Delicious now."
- James Suckling (February 2021), 90 pts
"Jammy raspberry and red plum aromas are friendly but a touch soft and short on concentration. A medium-full palate is pulpy and jammy, with plum, blackberry and herbal flavors that seem tomato-influenced. Nothing on the finish moves the dial; drink now. - MICHAEL SCHACHNER"

"A ripe nose to this young Malbec with notes of sultanas, plums, blueberries and crushed walnuts. Medium to full body, round and soft tannins and a sour finish. Drink now."
- James Suckling (April 2018), 90 pts
"100% grapes from Vista Flores, in the Uco Valley, with a clearly defined expression of vines grown on the slopes of the Andes. A wine that’s deliciously fresh, floral, with nice acidity, brimming with red fruit flavors."
