The grapes for this wine come from 2 famous areas of the Maconnais region - Vergisson and Solutré - famous for their Rocks. Hence, the minerality coming from these rocky soils. The wine displays fruity and floral aromas intertwined with vanilla and toasty notes. Harmonious, well balanced and elegant wine.
Excellent with white meats and fish.
"(made from vineyards in Vergisson and Solutré): Bright gold-tinged yellow. Broader and riper on the nose than the 2016 Mâcon-Villages and Saint-Véran bottlings, with an element of toasty oak complementing aromas of yellow peach, mirabelle, acacia flower and menthol. Silky, plush and broad but not heavy, with stone fruit and spice flavors still a bit youthfully aggressive and in need of another year in bottle to settle down. There's a sweetness here that's not shown by the other '16s from this producer, but it's nicely leavened by strong salty minerality. Finishes dry and persistent, with salty and spicy notes. I would not be surprised if this wine merited 90 points by next summer. - Stephen Tanzer"

"Bright, pale yellow. Ripe yellow peach with subtle smoke and spice nuances on the nose. A step up in intensity, clarity and energy in the middle palate from the Mâcon-Villages and Saint-Véran, with apple and pear flavors accented by spices. Still a bit warm and probably best suited for drinking over the next three years, before it loses its delicate fruit. - Stephen Tanzer"

"Another excellent wine is their 2014 Pouilly-Fuissé, which sees half of the production aged in cask and the other on its lees in tank. This is a fruity style of wine with a touch of vanilla, white peach, honeysuckle and poached pear. It is elegant, medium-bodied and an excellent value in high-quality Pouilly-Fuissé."
- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (March 2016), 88 pts - Excellent Wine Values for Under $25
"Pale, bright yellow. Restrained, fresh aroma of orange juice. Savory and lightly saline in the mouth; the suavest of this set of 2014s but still a bit dusty and edgy on the back end, with a touch of citrussy tartness. These wines could use more depth. - Stephen Tanzer"
