2016 Croix Senaillet Saint-Véran Les Buis - 90 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"(from a nearly 50-year-old 1.6-hectare parcel on white calcaire; done entirely in cuve): Bright medium yellow. Nose dominated by strong stony minerality. Considerably more saline than the foregoing wines--in fact, almost iodiney--with a ginger element contributing to the impression of vigor. This captivating, fresh midweight finishes dusty and impressively persistent, with an element of brown spices that would complement many Asian dishes. Conveys a strong impression of terroir. (The Martins also made a 2016 Saint-Véran sans soufre Ajouté, but despite showing good energy and salinity in the mouth, as well as a hint of tannins from the oak, it betrayed some oxidative crabapple and cider notes that limited its appeal.) - Stephen Tanzer"
- Antonio Galloni's Vinous (November 2017), 90 pts
