Clos Le Vigneau is a single vineyard from an area known as "les Gués d'Amant" or "Lover's Gap". Most of the vines were planted in 1929.
Off dry in style with honey, earth and apricot notes. Wines from the town of Vouvray have been known to age well for 40 years. This particular bottling should hold for at least 5-7 years.
Perfect with seafood, poultry and salads.
"The 2022 Vouvray is more serious, with classic Chenin dried hay, quince, and mineral notes in a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, elegant style. It's concentrated, has good acidity, and a clean finish."

"Rich Chenin Blanc, still bursting with youthful energy, is packed with flavor. Ripe apples dominate, giving the wine great ripeness. It is a tangy wine with fruitiness and texture. Drink from 2023. - ROGER VOSS"

"Aged in old barrels to give an oxidative effect, this wine shows a beautiful honey and almond character. Its freshness is still present, giving a lift to this impressive wine, ripe while still full of brightness. Drink now. - ROGER VOSS"

"Produced by Alexandre Monmousseau, scion of a distinguished local family, this wine is ripe, full-bodied and splendidly rich. Just getting ready to drink, the wine is generous and full of dried apple and peach flavors. Good now, it will age well, certainly until 2025. - ROGER VOSS"

"This wine is marked by a delicate and complex nose of ripe golden apple, peach stone, dried herbs, tidal pool, and powdery minerals. On tasting, more orchard flavors emerge in the wine’s full body and culminate with savory tone of river stones."

"Peach yogurt and orange blossom aromas give this a sunny character. There is something reminiscent of sour milk on the nose, but it's not unpleasant. The touch of residual sugar on the palate lends a lovely ...

"Delicious apple flavors dominate this wine. While it is essentially dry, a ripe character softens the acidity and gives it a spice and baked-apple character. The wine is still young, needing further aging to reveal its full potential. - Roger VOSS"

"The 2017 Vouvray Clos Le Vigneau comes all from a single lieu-dit (Clos Le Vigneau) and is 100% Chenin Blanc brought up all in tank. This medium-bodied, rounded, off-dry white offers up beautiful notes of peach, honeyed apple, and citrus-like aromas and flavors. I love its purity, it has good acidity, and it’s a brilliant white that’s going to shine for at least 4-5 years, and I suspect much longer. There’s no need to delay gratification though."

"Made in a dry style but with a honeyed edge, this is a balanced and crisp wine. Youthful acidity combines with flavors of almonds, quince and spice to give a wine that will be ready to drink from 2019. - RV"

"This wine is rich with smooth ripe fruit that give the impression that it is off dry. In fact, it is the intensity of the fruit that is the driving force behind the wine. With acidity strongly in the background, there is a crisp element to this fine lemon and apricot-flavored wine. Drink from 2019."
- Wine Enthusiast Magazine (August 2017), 92 pts & Editor's Choice
"This is a very fine, medium dry wine. It is superbly balanced between honeyed ripeness and tight, bright acidity. Crisp apples dominate the fruit profile of this young wine. That makes it delicious now but the wine is set to age well into a mature wine with great complexity. If you can wait, it will be more mature from 2019."
- Wine Enthusiast Magazine (April 2016), 92 pts
"A dry Vouvray, crisp and rich, this brings out all the complexity of Chenin Blanc. Nuts, yellow fruits and green apple flavors are well integrated and balanced. A light spice aftertaste gives an exotic finish. Drink now, or age until 2018. — R.V."

"Scents of ginger and lanolin lend spiciness to this wine's superripe apricot and lemon fruitiness. Chill is to serve with Cantonese whole fish steamed with ginger and scallions."

"This 100% Chenin Blanc from a 14.82-acre vineyard in Vouvray reveals classic flowery, honeyed aromatics with hints of apricot marmalade, honeysuckle and underbrush, and a fruity, slightly off-dry, medium-bodied, fresh, naked style. It is best consumed over the next several years."

"The 2011 Clos Le Vigneau, from a more challenging vintage, is just as good. Aromatics of spring flowers, poached pears, honeyed melon and some buttered citrus jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, very pure, fresh and nicely concentrated wine, which is the epitome of a dry Chenin Blanc meant to go with a cornucopia of cuisines."

"This is a young wine with some bitter almond flavors and a taut, nervy character. The wine is tight with green apple acidity showing through. Give it four years and it will be a rich, fruit-and-spice flavored wine. — R.V."
