"Poggio Nardone's 2017 Rosso di Montalcino (with 35,000 bottles produced) is a wine of extreme equilibrium and balance. Given the scorching heat and dryness of the vintage, this wine is remarkable. I highly recommend this easygoing Rosso for informal pasta or pizza dinners at home. The wine is soft and round; however, it still maintains that characteristic Sangiovese freshness and perkiness. It opens to a deeply saturated color and a lean mouthfeel with aromas of black fruit and plum. You taste that Rosso simplicity in the mouth. Some 35,000 bottles were made. - Monica Larner"
