This single-vineyard Chardonnay is produced in the village of Clessé, in the heart of the Mâconnais region in Burgundy, from 45 year-old vines planted on the limestone based soils of the Mount Epin.

"Ripe stone fruits, honeyed citrus, flowers, and some chalky mineral notes all define the 2022 Viré-Clessé Gentilhommes (wax cap), a balanced, fresh, focused white that has beautiful overall balance and a great finish. This was brought up mostly in stainless steel with 40% in foudre, and it's a custom cuvée made for Kysela. It's a smoking good Viré-Clessé to drink over the coming 4-6 years or so."
