The Grain Noir is made from grapes from grapes from right outside of the Cornas appellation, as well as grapes from the young vines of Cornas AOC that was declassified in order to keep the older vines from the Estate flagship cuvées. For the first time the 2021 harvest was vinified and aged in 400-liter oak barrels.
Well structured and round, Cuvee Grain Noir displays red fruit, leather, black cherry, liquorice and black berry aromas. This special cuvee is expressive, deep, rich, silky and juicy - truly delicious.
"Brilliant ruby. Smoke-accented dark berries, cherry and licorice on the perfumed nose. Juicy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors are complemented by a touch of cracked pepper and an olive nuance. The licorice and floral notes repeat on a nicely persistent finish shaped by supple, even tannins. - Josh Raynolds"
