Bright cherry color. On the nose you will find plenty of fruit aromas, well balanced as well as some reminiscences of spices that are appreciable. The oak presence gives elegant hints of black chocolate and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is very smooth and well balanced with the right amount of acidity. Fresh, long lasting and elegant.

"A bouquet of Luxardo cherry, blackberry preserves and lavender wafts from the glass. Surprisingly juicy on entry, this wine has flavors of pomegranate, ripe cherry, orange zest, dried thyme, dark chocolate and violet. Opulent tannins build in volume and then recede into a finish that is filled with bright fruit notes. - Mike DeSimone"

"The classical 2015 Crianza from Convento Oreja has some notes of dry hay and cereals, denoting a warm and ripe year. The palate is juicy, soft, approachable, pleasant and easy to understand. 20,552 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2017. - Luis Gutierrez"

"This wine’s soft mocha notes blend with aromas and flavors of black fruits, spices and herbs. The tannins feel tense straight through to the end, accompanied by firm acidity, two elements that would meld well with barbecued ribs."

"I keep being impressed by the wine I taste from Convento Oreja, in this occasion the 2014 Crianza, a very honest and fairly-priced Ribera del Duero, pure Tempranillo (Tinta del País) from 16-year-old vines fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in new French barriques for one year, during which time the wine was racked twice. There is very nice ripeness and integrated oak, and the wine transmits a sensation of harmony and balance, with nuances and some incipient complexity. The palate is also quite balanced and elegant, with some oak flavors, but nothing compared with what you can find in many wines from the region. It's supple and quite tasty. A superb crianza, with subtlety and power. Very good value too. 21,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2016. - Luis Gutierrez"

"Based all on Tempranillo, the 2014 Crianza offers a touch of earthiness as well as ample black fruits (black cherries, currants), spice, and vanilla oak. It’s medium to full-bodied, has ripe, silky tannins, ample fruit, and a great finish as well as plenty of character. It’s a thrilling, incredibly satisfying Ribera del Duero to enjoy over the coming decade."

"If last year I was impressed with the 2011, the 2012 Crianza from Convento Oreja might be even better. No signs of heat or overripeness here at all but perfectly ripe, terse fruit, integrated, balanced oak and a polished, sleek palate with fine tannins and good acidity. This is a textbook crianza form Ribera del Duero. 2,400 bottles produced. - Luis Gutierrez"

"(raised in a combination of new and used French oak barrels) Deep ruby. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violet and vanilla carry a smoky overtone. Weighty yet lively on the palate, offering juicy dark berry flavors and suave candied lavender and spicecake qualities. Smooth, plush and seamless in character, finishing with repeating spiciness, supple tannins and a lingering note of dark berry preserves. - Josh Raynolds"

"The 2011 Crianza is 100% Tempranillo aged one year in barrel that shows telltale aromas of a Ribera crianza, a mixture of ripe red and black fruit and the spiciness from the oak aging, with a lactic background. The palate shows ripe, juicy tannins a silky texture and good freshness. It is supple and tasty, and very pleasant overall. It develops strong toffee notes and flavors of cured meat with time in the glass. Tasty and showy. A very good crianza at a very good price. Drink now-2018. - Luis Gutierrez"
