jeb dunnuck logo 250"Possibly the finest rendition of this cuvée to date, the 2021 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine is exceptional, and while a second wine, it's up with the top-tier wines in the vintage. Ripe cassis, spicy oak, dried tobacco, and flowery incense notes all define the aromatics, and this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a plush, layered, elegant mouthfeel, and a gorgeous finish. It's one of those do-not-miss wines. Drink bottles over the coming 15 years."

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc, the deeper ruby-hued 2020 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine has a great nose of red and black currants, toasted spice, lead pencil, and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, round, lush, and seamless on the palate, it's another gorgeous wine from this estate that will evolve for 15+ years."

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The deep ruby-hued 2019 Columbia Valley CVR checks in as 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, and there are just under 6,000 cases produced. Beautiful Cabernet notes of cassis, redcurrants, tobacco, spring flowers, and cedarwood all define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a more elegant, silky, pure, classic Cabernet from this team."

Gathers speed and tension toward fine-grained tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2031. 5,800 cases made. - TF"

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Always one of the top values in high-end Cabernet Sauvignon out there, the 2018 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine boasts a healthy ruby/plum hue to go with a smoking bouquet of crème de cassis, toasted spiced, licorice, graphite, and crushed rock-like minerality. Rich, full-bodied, and beautifully textured, almost seamless, on the palate, it has a great mid-palate and a powerful, ripe, yet balanced and lengthy vibe making it a joy to drink. It should have 10-15 years of longevity, if not more."

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The 2017 Columbia Valley CVR is smoking stuff. Based on 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc sourced from the Champoux, Galitzine, Palengat, and Wallula Vineyards, it has loads of cassis, toasted spice, graphite, and dried tobacco notes as well as full-bodied richness, a broad, expansive mouthfeel, and sweet tannins. It’s not far off the top releases here, and it remains a stunning value in world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink it any time over the coming 15 years or more."

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The entry-level 2016 Columbia Valley CVR is a beauty and well worth purchasing, particularly as it drinks well right out of the gate where the top cuvee benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age. Full-bodied, ripe, and sexy, with terrific notes of kirsch, black cherry liqueur, lead pencil shavings, and graphite, it has plenty of tannins as well as terrific balance and elegance."

wa94"One of the finest examples of this cuvee to date, the opulent, sumptuous and downright sexy 2014 Cvr Columbia Valley Red Wine gives up loads of black currants, kirsch, licorice, toasted spice and dried herb aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, gorgeously textured, round, and just about as hedonistic as it gets, yet without being over the top or heavy in the least, drink it anytime over the coming decade. - Jeb Dunnuck"

international wine report logo"The 'CVR' is Quliceda Creek’s entry level wine which is made from fruit that didn’t quite make the grade for their flagship Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend for the 'CVR' changes each year, with the 2012 being composed of 91% Cabernet, 7% Merlot and 3% Cab Franc. This is very expressive with ripe and complex aromas of cassis, mocha, black olive and cedar notes, which all come together beautifully. This possesses a rich and dense palate that persists with notes of anise, crème de cassis, black olive and blackberry ending with impressive minerality and wonderful length. Overall, a rich and refined wine that's open but can also benefit from many years in the cellar. (Best 2015-2025) - OB."

wa93"A smoking effort that shows the beauty of the 2012 vintage, Golitzin's 2012 CVR Colombia Valley Red Wine is made from a declassified blend of most Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller parts Merlot and Malbec. It's offers a brilliant, almost Bordeaux-like, bouquet of sweet cassis, lead pencil shavings, graphite and hints of toast that flows to a full-bodied, layered, seamless Cabernet that has integrated acidity, sweet tannin and a great finish that doesn't lack for richness or persistence. Already hard to resist, it will nevertheless continue to drink nicely for another decade or more. - Jeb Dunnuck"

wa300"The 2012 "CVR" Columbia Valley Red Wine is a declassified blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with splashes of Merlot and Malbec. It offers up plenty of classic Quilceda character with notions of blackberry liqueur, toasted spice, graphite and licorice as well as full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. Already supple and approachable, yet with notable tannin structure, it will deliver the goods on release, and over the following decade or more. Drink: 2014 - 2024 - Jeb Dunnuck"

Concentrated and savory, with the dark fruit and chocolate flavors complemented by graphite minerality. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely persistence. A very strong vintage for this bottling, which consists of declassified lots that did not make it into Quilceda Creek's flagship Cabernet. - Steven Tanzer"

Wine Advocate 92 Pts"A superb entry level effort that has not only layers of fruit and texture, but solid back-end structure, the 2010 Red Wine is a declassified blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, yet has 15% Merlot and a splash of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc [sic] in there as well. Up-front, perfumed and intense, it offers up spice-laced red and black fruits, toast, cedar, vanilla and hints of chocolate to go with a full-bodied, mouth-filling and voluptuously textured palate. Lacking the polish and elegance that can be found in this estate's upper tier efforts, it nevertheless has superb fruit, ripe tannin and serious length. Enjoy it while you wait for this estate's other wines to mature. Drink now-2020."
