Luis Canas Finca el Palacio Rioja Alavesa
Bodegas Luis Canas
Spain - Rioja - Rioja Alavesa

The plot is called El Palacio (The Palace). Planted in 1969, it comprises three beautiful terraces facing the afternoon sun that follow the traditional “field blend”concept: different varieties planted together -Tempranillo, Graciano and Viura-.
It’s an earth that tastes like clay and chalk, where sandstone slabs often emerge.
This vineyard, made of the calcareous clay soils typically linked to Rioja Alavesa, is a firm candidate to become a truly representative wine of our land, our terroir.

The wine transports us to the vineyard itself, with its thyme and rosemary aromas. The Graciano variety, which represents 20% of this distinctive blend, leaves its mark, with notes of scrubland, and adds colour, vibrancy and great freshness. Viura imparts a pleasant, creamy and rich character to the blend. Tempranillo provides concentration and personality. It is dynamic and versatile on the palate, with a plethora of nuances that come and go.
