Founded in the 17th century, Chateau Gaudrelle is now owned by Eric Pasquier since 2020.
The estate progressively evolved and managed to produce refined and expressive wines. Since the beginning of the 2010s, under Alexandre Monmousseau's ownership, Château Gaudrelle has been initiating a shift towards agriculture that is more respectful of nature in obtaining the Terra-Vitis certification in 2015. The conversion to organic farming has been rapidly underway with the objective of turning biodynamic as soon as possible. Before taking full ownership, Eric Pasquier, had partnered with Alexandre Monmousseau between 2008 and 2020.
In 2023, Emile Pasquier (Eric's son) joined the Company and work with Cyril Nenin in the cellar.
Located in Rochecorbon, one of AOC Vouvray’s 9 villages, the impressive cellar in carved directly in the hill, across the road from the Loire river. The estate spreads over 20 hectares in the Vouvray appellation: 6 hectares for Clos le Vigneau, 14 hectares for Château Gaudrelle. Clos Le Vigneau is a single vineyard from an area known as "les Gués d'Amant" or "Lover's Gap". Most of the vines were planted in 1929. The soil is a mixture of argilo-calcaire, silex and gravel. The grapes – Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay - are hand harvested. Pressing is long and slow, fermentation is in stainless steel with two rackings and a light filtration before bottling.
