"Poggio Nardone's 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is a darkly saturated and concentrated wine. That color is set, thanks to alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks and malolactic fermentation in oak barrel. The wine then ages in wood for three years. This is a bright, buoyant and super direct Sangiovese with a very immediate delivery of cherry and blackberry fruit flavors. In the mouth, this is a firm and well-structured wine that could do with another few years of bottle aging. - Monica Larner"
