"aged for 18 months in new French oak): Full medium ruby. Blackberry, licorice and spicy oak on the youthfully clenched nose; more brooding than the 2012 Profundo and perhaps more minerally as well. Juicy, lively cassis, licorice, herb and spice flavors are complicated by a bitter chocolate nuance and lifted by a note of violet on the back. This shows a thicker texture and greater sweetness than the Profundo but is not at all a fleshpot. Brisk acidity and a firm spine of ripe tannins should keep it going for years. Really fills the mouth without leaving any impression of heaviness.- Stephen Tanzer"
