"The red blend 2013 Estate Selection is mostly Malbec from Gualtallary (60%) and the rest Cabernet and Syrah from Altamira, which together with the vintage conditions might explain the freshness and different profile ,definitively less ripe and oaky than in the past. The rest of the blend is 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Syrah. This is a very spicy, high pitched red with good balance between elegance and power, ripe without any excess. This is a wine that is easy to drink, a priority in the winery as they felt that the very extracted and oaky wines from the past were difficult to drink. The whole of Mendoza is harvesting earlier and producing fresher wines, but the risk is to do it too early and produce green wine. Great acidity and very polished tannins. 90,000 bottles.- Luis Gutiérrez"
