"The exact same could be said for the 2005 Chateauneuf Du Pape Cuvee de la Plume du Peintre, and it's up with some of the greatest wines I've tasted. Made from 100% Grenache and aged two-thirds tank and one-third in new barrels, it possesses off-the-charts purity and elegance to go with a massive, deep and thrillingly concentrated profile on the palate. Slightly more focused than the 2003, it offers notions of creme de cassis, toasted spice, incense and graphite that continue to evolve with time in the glass. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to latch onto a bottle of this beauty. Nevertheless, it's an incredible wine that will have 2-3 decades of longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck"
