"The cooler climate of Rueda makes for a Verdejo that’s more Sauvignon Blanc like than that from La Mancha. It is richly aromatic, showing passion fruit and citrus that carry over to the soft, full palate with a touch of lanolin. The Sanz family, owners of the Bodegas de Crianza de Castilla Vieja, which produces Palacio de Bornos, has been making wine in Rueda for almost 150 years. The manager and winemaker at the winery is Antonio Sanz. The winery has 100 ha of mostly Verdejo vineyards and sells about 2 million liters of wine annually."
