"The 2015 Barolo Bergera is raw and driving in feel, but also surprisingly accessible given its natural intensity. Spice, dried rose petal, red cherry, mint and orange peel give this burly Barolo a good deal of aromatic and flavor complexity. The Bergera is not an easy wine, but rather a Barolo in which the various elements push and pull against each other. "This is a dense, serious red with dried-strawberry, orange-peel and walnut character on the nose and palate. Full body and firm, chewy tannins that are polished and refined at the same time. This needs time to soften, but I like the sleek, linear path in the center palate. Drink after 2023."
