2012 Domaine de la Bégude Bandol Rouge La Brulade - 95 PTS & Cellar Selection - WE

wine enthusiast 95 pts"Made by the Tari family who used to own Château Giscours in Margaux, Bordeaux, this wine with its 18 months wood aging shows a great understanding of red-wine making. Firm and tannic, almost totally from Mourvèdre, this dark and brooding wine is nowhere near ready to drink. The organically grown grapes give a purity of fruit that cuts through the tannins. Don't drink before 2018. - Roger VOSS"

2013 Domaine de la Bégude Bandol Rouge La Brulade - 95 PTS - WE

wine enthusiast 95 pts"This is the top wine from La Bégude, named after the highest point in the vineyard at 1200 feet. It has structure, density and considerable acidity that is still calming down. With 18 months in wood, the wine has developing an extra richness and concentration. Produced by the Tari family, formerly of Château Giscours in Margaux, it is a wine made for aging. Drink from 2020. - Roger VOSS"

2015 Domaine de la Bégude Bandol Rouge La Brulade - 93 PTS - WA

wa93"The inky-colored 2015 Bandol Rouge la Brulade is 95% Mourvèdre, aged two years in demi-muids. Rich, plummy and intense, it showcases the power and majesty of Mourvèdre but somehow tames the tannins to manageable proportions. It's full-bodied and dense, boasting hints of lavender, thyme and sage to go along with the dark fruit flavors. It should drink well soon and remain strong through at least 2030. - Joe Czerwinski"

2015 Domaine de la Bégude Bandol Rouge La Brulade - 94 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The flagship 2015 Bandol Brulade is a powerful, serious Bandol that knocks it out of the park with its monster nose of dark fruits, cured meats, sandalwood, olive tapenade, and leathery characteristics. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and pure, with plenty of sexy fruit, it’s a terrific, serious Bandol that needs another 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for 15-20."

wine enthusiast 95 pts"This single-vineyard wine comes from a parcel that sits at 1,300 feet facing the Mediterranean sea. Its dark color, fabulous ripe fruits and perfumed character give it both richness and longevity. With 95% Mourvèdre, it has all the structure, dark tannins and spice of this grape that is at its best in this appellation. Drink this wine from 2023. - Roger VOSS"
