Danko takes its name from the locally grown and malted Danko Rye that is used in this beer. Danko also happens to be the last name of the bass player for The Band, Rick Danko, who grew up near Simcoe Ontario. And guess what hop Exhibit A uses to dry hop this beer with? Yep, Simcoe! Simcoe hops burst out of the glass with tangy peach, fresh figs and green plums. Balanced bitterness and earthy malt join in with Danko Rye for a light breadiness and smooth finish.
Each case of this beer supports 62 square feet of local farmland. It features Danko Rye and Warthog Wheat from Oechsner Farms in NY.
