Tiza is a house brand for Kysela Pere et Fils, LTD. It started with a delicious Malbec from Argentina back in 2005. In 2019, we added an excellent value Tempranillo from Spain in a Bag-In-Box format.
Tiza Tempranillo is made by Bodegas Campos Reales. The winery dates back to the 1950's, when dozens of small farmers founded a winery in El Provencio, a small town in Cuenca, in the La Mancha D.O. The winery is in the center of almost 4,000 hectares of vineyards and is part of the Virgen del Rosario cooperative.
Winemaker Soledad López (born in El Provencio, Cuenca, 1975) has been working at the Campos Reales winery for 18 years now. She started as an assistant, learning from Rafael Cañizares, the winemaker from the neighboring town of Las Mesas, who left Campos Reales to start his own winery. Soledad works closely alongside David Villora, the agricultural engineer and field technician for the cooperative. Between the two of them, they control the 20 varieties planted in the near 4,000 hectares of vineyards and produce an average of 27 million kilos of grapes per season, giving rise to approximately 18 million liters.
