Pierre and Véronique Janny purchased Domaine Condemine in 1982. They continue to run the winery today, along with their daughter Céline, who joined them in 2003. The domaine is located in the village of Peronne, 20 kilometers north of Mâcon.
Pierre is an agronomic engineer with great knowledge of vinification and viticulture. Veronique's family is also involved in the wine trade, as they have been growing grapes for 2 generations. Their philosophy is to produce a wine in the traditional style of Mâcon, with minimal intervention and no oak.
The Janny family has 6 hectares (14.8 acres) of vineyards planted with Chardonnay (5.5 ha), Gamay and Pinot Noir (0.5 ha). The oldest vines are 100 years old; the youngest are 35 years. The vineyards benefit from a great sun exposure on both sides of the valley. The soils is clay and limestone (Argilo-Calcaire), and the parcels are located right next to the Viré Clessé appellation. Everything is harvested by hand.
