The cooperative Madonna dei Miracoli of Casalbordino is located at the foot of Galante's Hill, a few meters from the golden beaches of Casal Bordino Lido. It was founded in 1960, thanks to the commitment of 42 small wine growers who shared the same aim to develop the production of the well-known local hills, where the vine has been carefully grown since ancient times. The winery was named in honor of the Madonna, who appeared in Casalbordino's countryside in 1527. Today the co-op has 650 members and boasts a total of 1,400 hectares (3,460 acres) of select vines.
Madonna dei Miracoli enjoys an ideal winegrowing climate, thanks to its location on the low hills of Casal Bordino, where moderating sea breezes from the Adriatic heighten the bouquet of the naturally prolific and robust grapes. The coop produces various levels of Montepulciano d’ Abruzzo, as well as Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Falanghina.
