"(aged for 15 months in French and American oak): Bright medium ruby. Exotic high-toned oak complements but does not overwhelm aromas of crushed blackberry, violet and licorice pastille. Rich and silky but quite light on its feet, with its intense, slightly saline black fruit and violet flavors complicated by herbal, white pepper and smoky oak notes. An enticing element of chalky minerality contributes pungency, and a fine tannins dust the palate and front teeth. I might have identified this lively wine blind as a 2016. An intriguing blend in which all three varieties are apparent today. - Stephen Tanzer"
