Hansen-Lauer Bernkasteler Graben Riesling Spätlese is grown on grey Devonian slate and comes from a vineyard overlooking the picturesque town of Bernkastel-Kues located in a bend of the Middle Mosel. The wine shows everything that makes a classic Mosel Riesling, minerality, acidity and fruit nicely balanced. The ageing potential of this wine is 15 years.
This is a full-grown wine which doesn't need any accompanying dish, but if you are looking for one try to pair it with Roquefort cheese (blue cheese), foie gras or dessert like fruit cake.
"Slim yet penetrating, this honey-kissed spätlese is packed with sweet yellow peach and apricot flavors. Backed by a racy streak of lime and lemon acidity, it's a spine tingling, electric sip with a lacy veil of sweetness and smoke on the finish. Anna LEE C. IIJIMA."

"Dusty notes of bramble and dried herbs on the nose contrast an intensely fruity palate that bursts of sunny white peach, apricot and white grapefruit flavors. Medium sweet and light on its feet, it's a juicy but nuanced wine to enjoy now. - Anna LEE C. IIJIMA”

"Opulent tropical fruit and florals perfume this decadently ripe yet bracing wine. It's intensely fruity and juicy yet spine tingling with acidity. Blossom and honey notes leave a lingering, pleasantly viscous trail of sweetness on the palate. Delightful now but likely to hold through 2022.”

"A step up, the 2015 Bernkasteler Graben Riesling Spätlese offer more complexity in its sugared peach, honeyed minerality, and subtle petrol aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, with bright acidity, it’s a winner as well as about as easy-drinking as it gets.”
