"I loved the 2021 Saint-Péray, a richer, more serious effort from this appellation that is undeniably on the uptick. Honeyed orange, tropical fruits, green almond, and some classy oak all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, has a layered, round texture, integrated acidity, and a great finish. Give it a year."

"Aniseed, tarragon, lemon verbena aromas. It’s fresh, with vibrant acidity. A really focused and vivid style of St-Péray. Well balanced oak work, and good length. From southeast-facing slopes at 280m altitude. Fairly young vines planted on sandy, silty clay soils. "The base 2019 Saint-Péray is brilliant and offers a gorgeous perfume of ripe apple and white currant fruits as well as mint and sappy white flowers, with ample background toast and nuttiness. Medium-bodied and concentrated, with both good acidity and a great mouthfeel, it's going to drink well for at least 5-7 years, most likely over a decade."

"The 2017 Saint-Péray Blanc from Michel checks in as an even split of Marsanne and Roussanne that was brought up all in neutral oak. It’s an outstanding wine as well as a terrific value. Notes of orchard fruits, honeyed minerality, white flowers, and hints of brioche all give way to a medium to full-bodied concentrated, yet elegant Saint-Péray that has good acidity, notable balance, and a great finish. Drink it any time over the coming decade."
