Aromas of strawberries and dried cranberries enhanced by obvious spiky American oak.
"The 2014 Marques Moral Crianza Valdepeñas, which is 100% Tempranillo, sports a ruby/purple color as well as charming, upfront notes of sweet cherries, vanilla bean, and spice. With medium body, good ripeness, no hard edges, and a clean finish, it’s as chuggable as it gets. Drink it over the coming couple of years."

"(100% tempranillo, aged in American oak): Bright ruby. Spicy and focused on the nose, displaying mineral-accented aromas of red berries, rhubarb and coconut. Silky and pliant on the palate, with juicy strawberry and raspberry flavors lifted by white pepper. Finishes with good length, a touch of warmth and lingering sweetness."

"(aged for six months in American oak): Dark red. Cherry, cassis and coconut on the nose, with pipe tobacco and spice qualities adding complexity. Modestly concentrated and pliant, offering sweet dark berry and cherry flavors complicated by bitter dark chocolate and vanilla qualities. The vanilla note repeats on the finish, which is gently tannic and nicely focused. Fans of oak will find my score low.- JR"

"Medium red. Aromas of redcurrant and cherry, plus a hint of dried rose. Fleshy and smooth, with moderate depth to its slightly bitter red fruit flavors. Finishes with decent breadth and grip, with the redcurrant element joined by a hint of white pepper."
