Like its little sister (Côte Rôzier) the Côte Brune is a 100% Syrah with a beautiful dark and brilliant color. The nose shows grilled and toasted notes and is completed by small red and black fruits. It is a wine with a very good length, nice complexity, finesse, and firm tannins. Its ageing in barrels for 16 months, 25% of which are new, brings a real balance to this wine. A very pleasant, elegant and modern wine that can be cellared for many years.
With roasts, white meat with wine sauce, game, red meat and dark chocolate. To be served between 16 and 18°C. (60-64°F)
"A touch of air helps to wake up the animal funk in this wine. As its rich blue fruit turns vibrant, that element of funk recedes fully into the background. For now, this is a fruit-driven syrah—the fruit dominates the dance floor here, the loamy earth and sticky grape-skin tannins relegated to the periphery. A young wine, in need of a decant if you open it now. —C.W."

"Inky ruby. Displays deeply pitched, smoke- and spice-accented dark berry preserve, fruitcake, licorice, black cardamom and olive qualities on the nose. Broad and fleshy in style, showing impressive heft to its blueberry, cassis, bitter chocolate and candied lavender flavors, which are sharpened by a spicy suggestion of black pepper. Closes very long and chewy, with building tannins and resonating smoke and black fruit notes. - Josh RAYNOLDS"
