"Winemaker Chris Pearmund created this rosé to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment that granted women the right to vote. Each bottle has a label honoring one of 12 influential women from Virginia’s history. My bottle featured Ella Fitzgerald, who was born in Newport News; others include Pearl Bailey, Martha Washington, Pocahontas and the Pamunkey tribal leader, Cockacoeskie. Pearmund recruited 16 Virginia wineries to contribute to the blend of chambourcin, merlot and petit manseng. It’s a vibrant pink wine with juicy red fruit flavors and an off-dry finish, in a very elegant bottle. ABV: 12 percent."
